PR Photography
Professional corporate photography for your press and PR campaigns.
Thinking differently:
A professional picture makes a real difference to your press and PR campaigns.
A thoughtfully put-together image reflects the professional attitude you have towards your own work. Generally PR photography demands something a little out of the ordinary, it must grab the reader's attention by a combination of its visual impact and its newsworthiness.
If the aim of your PR campaign is to convey your own professionalism or the credibility of your brand, the images you use need to back that up. First impressions count, and your audience are likely to look at the images before they read the text. It's crucial that you use professional images which send out the same message as your copy.
Newspaper and magazine editors are inundated with press releases and photographs every day, so yours must have enough impact to stand out from the crowd or it may end up not being used at all!
Compare the two shots below.
The first is a typical business-suit shot. It does the job, but doesn't make the Directors of this company stand out. It doesn't convey anything particular about them, their company, or their brand. It is no different from the hundreds of other business pictures that land on the desks of picture editors every day.
Roll your mouse over the image to see a fresh approach to PR photography.
The second shot shows how, with a little bit of thought, I came up with a fresh approach. Using my skills, knowledge and powers of persuasion, I came up with this idea and worked with the MD to achieve it. The image still has the company's branding but conveys it in a slightly more subtle way. The key to the success of this shot lies in how the people come across. You get an idea of their character, and feel as if you'd like to engage with them and their brand. Most importantly, this shot would stand out to picture editors and is much more likely to get used than the first shot. The client will therefore see better results and the image will give their PR campaign a boost.
The clients in this case - HR Owen - were delighted by the difference I brought to their PR campaign and this image was published by several high profile publications.
So, whether it's a product launch, a new appointment or any other kind of story, a PR photograph should be anything but run-of-the-mill.
